This week I will be teaching geography, exploration and the motives behind the European colonization of the Americas. I will also begin discussing a field trip opportunity for students scheduled for May 20th in Washington DC.
What I'm Doing
Students are going to need play doh for projects on Thursday Sept. 7th. Please plan ahead for this. Just a four pack will suffice please. Also, check out http://www.closeup.org/ for details about our field trip for may 20th.
What can you do?
This week students will be creating ads in order to showcase their understanding of our diverse American geography. Students will also learn about the social sciences in general and how they are applicable to our everyday lives. Students have their first HW assignment this weekend. It is the "lesson game," found in Chapter 2, "European Exploration and Settlement" A day students have it due on Wednesday, September 6th. B day students have it due on Tuesday, September 6th.
